About CFDA
About Us
More than just dance
Creative Force Dance Academy is the longest-running dance school in Milton Keynes, proudly established in 1988.
About Us
Dance training with heart, heritage and high standards
For more than 35 years, CFDA has helped generations of dancers build confidence, technique, discipline and a lifelong love of dance. We are known for our high standards, our welcoming approach and our wide range of classes for children, teenagers and adults.
From first steps in Toddler Dance to advanced training, exams, performance opportunities and adult classes, CFDA offers a place for every dancer to learn, grow and feel part of something special.
A welcoming dance school for all ages
At CFDA, we believe dance should be inspiring, supportive and accessible.
We welcome students from age 1 through to adults, creating a friendly environment where every dancer feels encouraged and valued. Whether your child is joining their very first class, returning to dance after a break, or looking to progress through grades and exams, our team is here to support them every step of the way.
We also offer a free trial session for all new students, giving families the chance to experience CFDA before committing to a class.
Our story
Creative Force Dance Academy was formerly known as Coles Forsyth Dance Academy, continuing the proud legacy of the school originally founded by Sue Coles.
Sue established Sue Coles School of Dance in 1988 and ran the school until 2014, building an exceptional reputation for quality dance training in Milton Keynes.
Laura Forsyth, a former pupil, joined Sue as a partner in 2014 and the school became Coles Forsyth Dance Academy. In 2021, Sue decided to take a step back and Charissa Halliday joined Laura to take over the running of the school, which was renamed Creative Force Dance Academy, keeping the CFDA brand.
Today, Laura and Charissa continue to lead CFDA with the support of a dedicated team of experienced teachers, including Sue Coles as Head of Ballet. Together, they combine professional training, creativity and a genuine passion for helping students flourish.
More than a dance school
CFDA is about more than steps, technique and exams.
It is a place where students develop confidence, friendships, resilience, creativity and self-expression. We are proud to see our dancers grow not only in ability, but also in character.
Whether dancing for fun, fitness, confidence, exams or future ambitions, every student is part of the CFDA family.
Every two years, the excitement builds as our dance school takes to the stage for our spectacular school show! It’s so much more than a performance; it’s a celebration of our dancers, their friendships, their growth and the incredible journey they’ve been on. From our tiniest stars to our senior dancers, every single one has a special place in our show. It’s truly one of the highlights of our dance school calendar and an experience our dancers will remember for years to come.
